হরতাল প্রত্যাহার এবং সংলাপ নিয়ে একটা স্টেটাস এর পর অনেক বন্ধু
সমালোচনা করছেন | তাদের কথা হইলো শেখ হাসিনা চালবাজি করে লাস্ট মোমেনটে
ডায়ালগ এর দাওয়াত দিছে, তাও ডাক দিছে ২৮ তারিখে বসতে , ২৭ তারিখ বসতে
বলে নাই | শেখ হাসিনার উদ্দেশ্য মানুষকে বোঝানো, খালেদা জিয়াই সংলাপকে
ঘোলা করতাছে এবং অস্থিতিশীলতা সৃষ্টি করতাছে | তাই এখন অবশ্যই হরতাল
চালু রাখা দরকার |
তাছাড়া এখন আসল ইস্যু হাসিনার সরকার ইলিজিটিমেট | ফলে এই সংলাপ সংলাপ করে
হাসিনা সময় পাস করতে চাচ্ছে |
এই আর্গুমেন্ট দুইটা আমার কাছে চরম কনফিউযড মনে হইছে |
আমার মনে হয়, বাংলাদেশের পলিটিকাল নেতারা একটা কথা এখনো বোঝেন না তা
হলো, তারা জনসম্মুখে যে কমিটমেন্ট গুলো করেন, তা কিন্তু তাদের
প্রতিপক্ষের সাথে না বরং জনগন এর সাথে করা |
পলিটিক্সে আপনার শত্রু আপনাকে বিপদে ফেলে, আপনাকে সেই কমিটমেন্ট থেকে
অন্য পথে নিয়ে মানুষের কাছে আপনার লেজিটেমেসী নষ্ট করবে –এইটা ফেয়ার গেম

কিন্তু আপনি নিজেই প্রথমেই একটা বিশাল বড় হাইপ তুললেন, ডায়লগ এর |
বললেন, ২৪ ঘন্টার মধ্যে ডায়লগ না হইলে হরতাল |
এখন ডায়লগ এর ডাক দিলে আপনি বলতাছেন, কেন লাস্ট মোমেন্ট এ ? কেন এক দিন পরে ?
এইটা ফ্লিপ ফ্লপ |
বুজলাম হাসিনার সরকার ইলিজিটিমেট হয় কিন্তু আপনেরা তো সরকার পতনের
দাবিতে হরতাল দেন নাই |
আপনি হরতাল ডাকছেন ডায়ালগ এর দাবিতে হরতাল |
তো এখন কি হইলো ? আপনেরা ডায়লগ এর দাবিতে তিন দিন মানুষ রে কষ্ট দিবেন
যখন ডায়লগ কারীরা আপনাদেরকে ফোন এ পায় না |
এই গুলো হইলো ফ্লিপ ফ্লপ করা | পাবলিক বুঝে | এবং এর ফলে আপনেরা লুজ
হইতাছেন |পাবলিক সেন্টিমেন্ট হারায়তাছেন |
পাবলিক কে একটা নির্বোধ মনোলিথিক জোম্বি ভাইবেন না | পাবলিককে যদি
কমিটমেন্ট দেন সেইটা রাইখেন | রাখতে পারবেননা তেমন কমিটমেন্ট কইরেন না
| এমন চাল চাইলেন না যেই চালে নিজেরাই চালবাজিতে পরবেন|
১৯৯৬ সালে আওয়ামী লিগ দুইশ হরতাল দিছিল, আমরাও এখন তিনশ হরতাল দিব – এই
ধরনের চিন্তা করে এক এর পর এক হরতাল দিয়া, মানুষরে যদি বিপর্যস্ত করেন
তাইলে ভুল করবেন |
চরম এন্টি আওয়ামী লিগ ফিলিংস এবং কোনো অল্টারনেটিভ না থাকাতে দেশের বড়
একটা মানুষের কাছে এখন বিএনপির জোয়ার আসছে | এদের বড় অংশ সুইং ভোটার |
কিন্তু বিএনপি যদি এই ভাবে ফ্লিপ ফ্লোপিং করতে থাকে- তো সুইং ভোটারদের
মানসিকতাও ফ্লিপ ফ্লপ করবে |
বাংলাদেশের মানুষ কে ফরগ্র্যান্টেড ধরে নিলে বিএনপি ব্যাপক ভুল করবে |
বাংলাদেশের জনগণ এর সাথে বিএনপির একটা বোঝাপড়া এখনো হয়নি সেইটা হইলো
বিএনপি যে, এই বার ক্ষমতায় এসে আওয়ামী লিগ এর থেকে বেশি লুটপাট করবেনা
এবং একটা একটা সল সার্চিং করে বিএনপির মধ্যে ফান্ডামেন্টাল চেঞ্জ আসছে
–সেই ব্যাপারে বাংলাদেশের জনগণ এখনো কনভিনসড না| এবং সেকেন্ডলি আওয়ামী
লিগ কিন্তু বিলবোর্ড দখল করে, উন্নয়ন বিজ্ঞাপন এর পর এবং ঢাকার শহরের
বুকে দুইটা হাইলি ভিজিবল ওভারব্রিজ উদ্বোধনের পর একটা ভালো কাম বাক
করছে | তারা তাদের দুর্নীতি, শেয়ার মার্কেট, পদ্মা ব্রিজ এই আলোচনা গুলো
কিন্তু তারা পাবলিক ডিস্কোর্স থেকে সরিয়ে দিছে এবং পাবলিক ডিস্কোর্সে
একটা এজেন্ডা সেটিং করে দিছে – যত খারাপই হোক না কেন, আসলে আওয়ামী লিগ
এর মত এত উন্নতি স্বাধীনতার পরে কেও করে নাই |
এগযেকটলি এই লাইনটা আমি গত তিন সপ্তাহে, তিন জন লোক এর কাছে শুনছি যারা
কেও আওয়ামী লিগর না |
বিএনপি এখন বড় যেটা ভুল করতাছে, তা হলো তাদের অর্গেনাজায়সেনকে না গুছিয়ে
| গত পাচ বছর বিএনপি তে সাংগঠনিক একটিভিটি ছিলনা বললেই চলে| বিএনপি ছিল
টপ হেভি বিবৃতি মুখী দল | এবং সেই অবস্থা কাটে উঠতে যে প্রিপারেশন
সেইটা বি এন পির নেয়া শুরু করা উচিত | কোন এলাকায় কে জনপ্রিয় এই ধরনের যে
সার্ভে করতে হয়, ফিউচার এজেন্ডা সেটিং, মানুষ কে একটা ভিশন দেয়া এই কাজ
গুলো তাদের এখুনি শুরু করা উচিত| এখন হুট করে যদি একটা সেটেলমেন্ট হয়ে
যায় , বিএনপি একদম লাল হাতে ধরা খাবে | কারণ, তাদের কোনো প্রিপারেশন নাই
| জাস্ট একটা জোয়ার এর উপর কাগজের নৌকার উপর বিএনপি ভাসতাছে এবং জোয়ার
দেখে তারা মনে করতাছে জোয়ার তাদের পারে নিয়ে যাবে | কিন্তু জোয়ারএর
মধ্যেও মাঝি কে শক্ত করে হল ধরতে হয় এই বাস্তবতা তারা মোটেও খেয়াল
করতাছেনা |
আওয়ামি লিগ অনেক মাচুইর একটা রাজনইতিক দল । এবং বর্তমানে শেখ হাসিনার বডি লেঙ্গুয়েজ যদি দেখেন তাইলে দেখবেন শেখ হাসিনা অনেক কম্পোজড আচরণ করছে । এবং আওয়ামি লিগ ক্লিয়ারলি একটা স্ট্রেটেজি সেট করে আগাচ্ছে । এবং ঐ স্ট্রেটেজির পার্ট হিসেবে তারা প্রতিটা মুভ করছে এবং একটা ক্রাইসিস প্রিরিয়ডে খুব সংগবদ্ধ একটা দল এর মত একটা সিংগেল ইউনিট হিসেবে আওয়ামি লিগ মুভ করছে । কিন্তু বিএনপির মুভমেন্ট দেখে মনে হচ্ছে তাদের কোন স্ট্রেটেজি নাই । তাদের স্ট্রেটেজি হইলো রিএকশান । এবং এই ডায়ালগ এবং হরতাল ফিয়াস্কো তে মনে হইতাছে বিএনপি পুরো কনফিউজড কি চায় তারা জানেনা ।
এই সব কথা শুনলে বিএনপির লোক জন তেলে বেগুনে জ্বলে উঠে, গালমন্দ করে । এইটার মানে হইলো, তারা তাদের দলের লিডারশিপ কে প্রস্ন করতে অক্ষম, যেইটা তাদের আরেকটা দুরবলতা ।
বিএনপি কে এখন যেই পথে আগাচ্ছে, সেই ভাবে যদি আগাইতে থাকে তো জেতা ম্যাচ তারা হারবে ।
এইটা গরিবের বাসি কথা ।

Is this man from BNPs Gulshan office? How does he know BNP has not conducted any survey. When the next election is questionable, why would it expose its future agenda? And billboard was popular? Definitely the author does not live in Dhaka!
Awami league has inadvertently done themselves a favor by putting the billboards illegally. It created a furor, which in the long term resulted in a much better spread of the core message that they wanted to send- though AL did some bad things but AL has done huge development. This message has stuck in lot of peoples mind and AL propaganda machinery is working overtime to establish the message.
In the long run, nobody is discussing the method, but AL has been pretty successful to set a tone in the current dialogue that is AL has done huge development which is an outright lie.
Whether or not BNP has done survey, BNP looks ill prepared and lethargic.
A good analysis of the claims made by AL in the billboards would bring out many gap in their claims. There were no signs of that endeavour nor any effort to reach out to media to refute the claims was visible. A lot of newspapers did this work ,specially KalerKantho did two good reports refuting the claims. But, BNP failed to do this basic of refuting AL claims.
The current fiasco of strike or dialogue has exposed the leadership in a bad light. they look jaded and without any cohesive strategy and fumbling with their logic .
As an independent observer without any bias to AL or BNP it looked just like that.
And, the sad part for BNP supporter is, they put their leadership in much more danger by not challenging decisions of the leadership.
1. you claim yourself an independent observer without any bias to AL/BNP (what about Jamat?), could you please write an essay on mistakes of AL/JAMAT? OF SIMILAR LENGTH? Clearly there are some, as recent independent surveys (PA/DS) say, a huge decrease in AL and Jamat’s popularity and increase in BNP’s popularity)
2. OK, about the billboards! if the billboards were that popular why was there not a single appreciation around me? everything i heard was sarcastic! (btw, I might be a BNP supporter, but I do have friends who are AL supporters!). And not only that, why were they removed so fast in Dhaka?
3.Mirza Alamgir is in politics for 50 years. There was not a single case against him even two years back. Iliyas Ali Disapeared. BNPs movement was on peak. and then cases filed against him. bails were denied! He was sent to jail along with other top leaders. Now there are 56 cases against him. each month, he needs to go to the court! thousands of BNP leaders are in jails. many have disapeared / brutally tortured or killed. and you say, BNP looks lethargic!
4. BTW, BNP supporters do not put their leadership in danger. unfortunately, leadership from both AL and BNP does not listen to their supporters that much. and they do not learn from history.
5.it is easy to write facebook statuses criticising BNP politicians while they are getting killed by police/BGB/RAB/AL cadres. I suggest you one thing. go to Dhaka, Meet Iliyas ali’s daughter. and then write another status on BNP’s mistakes!

2. I am neither appreciating the billboard. But, my point is billboard by the virtue of being controversial has successfully brought, AL’s development illusion into mainstream discussion. They have now set the course of discussion that- though AL did some pretty nasty things, none has done more development than AL after independance though it is an outright lie but I would say they have been quite successful and that is only because BNP has not refuted the claims properly.
3 . This thread is not about Mirja Fakhrul. He is a well respected person across all spectrum and I hold the same adoration for him. But, this thread is not about him.
4. BNP has claimed they will bring new brand of leadership and you are still subscribing and patronizing idol worshipping. I would say,all BNP supporters must ask greater transperency and democracy within the institution. This old mal in new bottle, does not do any good to the country. Sad to hear this.
5. I find it a fascinating argument that, since Iliyas ali was abducted by Al, we can’t now criticise BNP – a party who will decide the hope of this 16 crore people.
If you are supporter of BNP, you would do great service to the nation and your party by challenging the leadership. BNP looks disorganized, reactionary and devoid of idea having no strategy. In the contrary, AL looks well organized and strategic. They have made an impressive transformation in last seven days. Hasina and all other senior leaders have toned down and appearing in media trying to establish a message that they are willing to compromise instead of gun swinging swagger that they displayed weeks before . BNP leadership has not shown the same acumen and they neither have a consistant message nor a well worked development agenda to latch on to people.

4. oh yes, the AL leaders toned down! PM talked about 15th August and 21st August while she invited KZ over phone! and the next day, cases were filed against BNP leaders ,again, Home minister talked about a special team to control BNP movement, AL cadres were asked to occupy mosques with arms.

1.As a bonafide shahbag activist, I probably should take offense on such question form a dedicated BNP activist,who’s party leader has declared that on accession to power she would free war criminals of Jamat and who has an allayance with Jamat. 😛 (lets not argue what KZ meant through that line. )

There are lot more criticism of Jamat. I only started writing seriously a year before so not even Jamat , even BNP has not been criticised with equal proportion to AL. So, I beg to apologise for that :p
I agree with you that, it has been very difficult times for BNP while the government had carried out their oppression. And, the pain and suffering on family level and personal level probably was much higher. I would not feel it as I am not part of that. But, I do empathise that.
But,
Only because, Mirza Fakhrul or other senior members of BNP leadership suffered in the hand of AL(I am not justifying but they probably did something similar to AL leadership in their days. Sorry I had to bring this to put it into context that this is usually reciprocal ) there is no excuse of bad decisions and not having a strategy.
Not coming up with a vision for people on what changes BNP will bring who are disgruntled with AL but still not convinced that, BNP has fundamentally changed their looting and plundering attitude that existed in last terms amongst many BNP leaders with some very few notable exception is inexcusable .
When I meant toned down, I meant the toning down the rhetoric. I agree that, AL carried the same oppression on BNP leaders and police prosecution across the country but I am surprised that BNP have not recognized the marked difference in their body language and distinct difference in their rhetoric when AL are coming in front of media and the coherent message that they are building up .
I am also surprised that, BNP are unable to comprehend how this act is part of their strategy and game plan. If BNP can’t recognise this change no doubt they will be unable to act meaningfully with a counter strategy.
